Be Pampered at Trepassey

We have started doing a pamper night at Trepassey as one of our staff is a trained beautician. It was decided that once a month we would have a pamper night for our residents and families were also invited. The first one was held recently and was a massive success –  the residents and their families had a really good night – they felt and looked gorgeous afterwards!!

We started celebrating Easter on Good Friday by decorating the house with the help of some residents. The residents had fun helping to fill the Easter Baskets and also did some Easter baking.

On Easter Sunday the staff gave each resident an Easter egg and Easter card.  Then everyone enjoyed Easter lunch together.  The Easter Egg Hunt started at 4pm and all the families joined in – split into 2 teams with each team giving clues to the other team and then sending a carer to look for the eggs depending on the answer to the clue.

The Easter Weekend was lots of fun at Trepassey!

Exercise is Fun at Trepassey

Every Thursday morning, the residents look forward to their exercise class at Trepassey.  These chair exercises are gentle and fun using music and anything which comes to hand in order to get feet tapping, legs lifted and arms waving. These photos certainly show some of the ladies with the giggles and how the staff at Trepassey love being involved too!

Edna Carline

Edna Carline

Shortly after visiting another of the Cheshire Residential Trust Homes, Upton Grange in Macclesfield, the Owl Friends were made very welcome by the residents of Trepassey. Both the barn owl Spike and Twiggy the Tawney owl seemed to enjoy sitting on the arms of some residents and were declared to be “calming and so beautiful”.

Pamela Graham had hand reared both owls and described her experiences with them as they matured.  Their confidence with people is thanks to her gentle care.

Beautiful arrangements

The 90th Birthday of The Queen was celebrated at Trepassey with a special afternoon tea.  The residents enjoyed making beautiful flower arrangements to decorate the tables.  They used flowers of red, white and blue in their designs and were justifiable proud of their efforts.  The afternoon tea was a great success and the tables decorations were very patriotic.

Presentation to Polly – 30 years service to Trepassey residents

A happy occasion was celebrated recently when a presentation was made to Polly who has worked at Trepassey for 30 years – yes, 30 years!  Staff happy in their work has always been a source of pride to the Cheshire Residential Homes Trust and Polly is a wonderful example.  Over the years she has known many residents and their families very well – she is much loved and respected.  Mrs Suzanne Cook, the Chairman of the Trustees, took great pleasure in thanking Polly for her 30 years dedication to Trepassey and presenting her with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.  We’re sure she’ll continue to enjoy working at Trepassey for a good while longer too.

Wonderful views from Trepassey

Trepassey is situated on an easily approached hill in Heswall on the Wirral and as such has wonderful views of the estuary below.  Even at this time of the year there is much to see as walkers take advantage of the low tides and when the abundant birdlife on the estuary show off in the winter sun.
