Shortly after visiting another of the Cheshire Residential Trust Homes, Upton Grange in Macclesfield, the Owl Friends were made very welcome by the residents of Trepassey. Both the barn owl Spike and Twiggy the Tawney owl seemed to enjoy sitting on the arms of some residents and were declared to be “calming and so beautiful”.

Pamela Graham had hand reared both owls and described her experiences with them as they matured.  Their confidence with people is thanks to her gentle care.

The Queen’s 90th Birthday Flowers

Beautiful arrangements

Beautiful arrangements

The 90th Birthday of The Queen was celebrated at Trepassey with a special afternoon tea.  The residents enjoyed making beautiful flower arrangements to decorate the tables.  They used flowers of red, white and blue in their designs and were justifiable proud of their efforts.  The afternoon tea was a great success and the tables decorations were very patriotic.

Visit by pupils from Upton Priory School

It is lovely to see young and elderly together and just recently Upton Grange was visited by 8 and 9 year old students from Upton Priory School.  The students spent time chatting and reading to our residents who enjoyed the visit tremendously.  The students will be visiting us weekly for the next five weeks and we look forward to seeing them again.
